Design assistance is simply part of what we do to provide the best possible service to our customers. If you are unsure of what you need in a plastic extrusion, our experienced and knowledgeable team will work with you to select the design that best fits your needs.

Many extrusion houses start the design process with a print of your design—we don’t. Even if all you have is a sketch on paper, we can work with you. Where other companies need advanced drawings and CAD models to begin prototyping, we only need your ideas; it’s one of the key differences that sets us apart from other plastic extrusion manufacturers. We’re experts at designing plastic extrusions from scratch, and we love working alongside our customers to come up with designs.

We can recommend designs for mating extrusions, such as snap fits, slide fits, etc. We have extensive experience in snap fit applications. We will work with you to tweak designs to make them “extrusion friendly”. By doing this, we can help reduce material and tooling costs, and in many cases, increase the process capability, which results in increased product consistency. This also can help to shorten the product development lead-time.

If you have limited or no extrusion knowledge, that’s okay. We will guide and educate you on best practices for extruded plastic profile design. If you have a physical sample of what you would like, we can help identify the material and develop engineering prints from that sample. Tooling and first article samples can then be created based on the engineering prints.

We can import designs from many CAD programs—some file types include DWG, DXF, SLDPRT, IGS, STP. We can also provide CAD files for customers to work with in their software. We can create drawing databases for rapid prototype manufacturing. From material, to shape, to any special properties you need—our team can advise you on everything from start to finish. Our expertise allows us such flexibility, and is part of what makes us the easiest company you’ll ever work with.

In addition to assisting you in the design process, we’re pleased to offer select customers free tooling costs.
